Calling in sick in your first trimester?

Ladies,

How did you guys do it?? Did any of you have to call in sick during your first trimester?  I have a pretty flexible job, but I don't ever call in sick (or get sick) and my boss and company doesn't know yet. We're 2 months tomorrow so we're waiting until I go away on a business trip next month to inform them all. I woke up today feeling fine, then ate breakfast and slowly went downhill from there. Struggling to get moving and push through the nausea. Oy. 
How did you guys manage this? I'm worried if I start calling in sick, they may get suspicious!

I have a coworker that is trying to safely get into her second trimester after multiple miscarriages, and the only person she told was our boss (and me) because she knew she'd have appointments. I think if you can trust your boss with that information, it would be valuable to tell them just in case. It's easier for me to call in sick (or work from home) than to be running to the bathroom 3-4 times because I'm puking.

If it gets to be that difficult to deal with I plan on just telling my boss. Especially if I feel okay for a part of the day and have a good idea for a daily time that things start to go downhill. That way I can work with them and not carry a guilt/worry feeling all the time.

If it where me I'd get some salteen crackers and some ginger ale to keep at work and maybe some peppermints because they are all things that help with nausea. You might end up having to tell them sooner than you want

I was very sick in the beginning and called in a lot :( I ended up getting put on leave for 2 weeks until
I could get Meds into me and feel better to go back.

I was sick as a dog my first trimester. I told my boss and he kept the info to himself. I was sick at work a lot. But with altoids, crackers and sprite...I lived.
