Baby Shower DRAMA!!!

This is a long story so bare with me. So my mom & close friend are supposed to throw me a baby shower. I had to put 200 down on the venue Bc my mom said she couldn't afford it. So I gave the money to my close friend because she lives across the street from the venue & my mom gave her $50 to pay the venue in full. We did this literally two plus months ago. Then Sunday she texts us to tell us the hotel double booked us less than 14 days before the event (4/30). I had 71 people confirm && family coming from out of town. Drama stirs up of course but around the hotel like how could they do that?! Shouldn't they have to help us find another venue..? Then yesterday my close friend texts me apologizing because she asked a friend to take the 250 to the hotel & the friend instead borrowed the money NEVER reserving the room. So I called the hotel to find out most of what my friend was telling me was a lie. They told her Wednesday that another party was coming to put the deposit down & if she could beat them there or do an over the phone credit card we could have the space. Well because of the now venue changed to a location over an HOUR travel time for some out of town guests from their hotels etc. they don't know if they want to come. Most importantly my grandma. Which is really why I'm PISSED! Because my friend fucked up she might not come. She barely responds to my texts and ignores my calls. I really at this point just want to tell my friend cancel what you paid for I'll take care of it & dont come am I wrong?
