Boy or girl?

Question

What are you hoping to conceive? Or does it not matter? Are you trying anything to try to conceive a specific gender? If so, what? We are trying to have a boy. Only thing I'm really trying to do is eat specific foods and trying positions most likely to help conceive a boy. :)

We have a 6 yr old girl so we would really like to have a boy so we can have the best of both worlds....but really...we will be happy with another girl too!

We both knew we were ready for kids when we didn't care what the sex was. Neither of us have a preference, since it is our first. Just want it/them to be healthy. If you asked the family though, they all would say a girl, because we only have one girl in the family and joined us as a 5 year old. They want to dress her up and buy all the girly things. As far as doing anything to favor a sex - we aren't. Just trying to make sure we do the bd at the right time :)

They say if you bd more before ovulation it's more likely you'll have a girl, and if you bd closer to the actual time of ovulation or right after you're more likely to have a boy. This is because the male sperm are slightly lighter in weight than female sperm because their Y chromosome is much smaller than the X, which the female sperm have. The male sperm are more likely to get to the egg first, so that's why is you have sex closer to the time of ovulation or right after you're more likely to have a boy. If you bd days before ovulation, the male sperm are more likely to get through to the Fallopian tubes but also more likely to die off before the egg is released, giving the female sperm time to catch up.

Well I read positions were the sperm can get in closest to the cervix like missionary or doggystyle are better for a boy because the boy sperm isn't as fast. Also I read eating saltier foods is better for conceiving a boy and you should stay away from acidy food if u want a boy. Also I read the man should drink a caffeinated beverage before sex because supposedly it helps the sperm swim faster. I have no idea if that's true though lol.

We are not trying for either as it will be our first but I do secretly want a boy first! Actually hubby and I just finally agreed on a boy name. That took a few months! :)
