Name selection

Two things! One, do you think it is selfish if i don't want to share the names I have picked out with my family, and I really just wanna surprise everyone when the baby is here. And two, is it rude for family to suggest names if you are not even asking for suggestions!? Getting super annoyed with my mother because she just asked me if I could use the middle name she wants, that I secertly already have picked out!!
