Possibly controversial rant

I warned you

Disclaimer: This is just a topic that I've been constantly seeing the past few days. I have nothing, absolutely nothing, against the military. I support those who have chosen to join and protect our country.

Ok I have a few people on Facebook who are very upset that people remember Prince when he died and the other people who were known, yet they don't remember the military men who died.

And honestly, I feel like it is wrong for them to be upset about it.

NOT BECAUSE THE MILITARY DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE REMEMBERED!

But because these singers and actors who die, many people grew up knowing them, and through their work felt an attachment to them.

Everyone knows the men and women who serve and protect our country deserve to be remembered. But very few people know of them by name, as they know of people such as Prince. (I'm only using him as the example since his is most recent and the specific one popping up).

Even people who are fighting overseas, or did fight overseas, have stepped in and told the people that they aren't offended at all by people remembering artists such as Prince.

Basically, I just feel like the few people who are arguing this point is saying that unless you fight for your life or other people's lives then you don't deserve to be remembered because you did nothing for society. And that's really the argument they're putting up.
