Best pads to use after birth?

Question

Was hoping to buy some pads for in hospital (just in case I don't like what they provide) and also for once I get home. Any recommendations??

Was looking online at Always brand. Anyone have any experience with wings vs. no wings? Ultra thin maxi vs.  regular maxi? Overnight? Haha. I've never used pads! Been a tampon girl my whole life. I used some pads briefly during my miscarriage and hated how crinkly they sounded and the wings. My god the "wings" suck. Are they really necessary?

Hoping for a little insight here! I'm not interested in the adult diaper route. Just helpful info on pad styles and absorbency.

I'm a week post partum and just went thru the same confusion as I hadn't used pads since I was like 14 haha- I found I needed heavy flow overnight pads for about 3 days; after that the ultra thin overnights were enough. The overnight ones are extra long so they work the best. And yes definitely get the ones with wings it gives you a bit more protection!

I'm sensitive to bleach so I don't use always. After birth I used natracare super pads in overnight. Right after giving birth some people are happier with the thick maternity pads. Natracare has the too. They leak more (no wings) but less than the hospital pads and are more comfortable because you're sore right after giving birth

I'm planning on trying adult diapers 
(pose, depends)so I'm fully covered at all times, although this is my 4th pregnancy it just seems to make sense instead of fussing with wings and still having accidents.

I plan on buying the biggest, thickest mattress-type pads with wings so they stay put. My friends have told me that's all you'll be wearing so buy the bulk packages lol. Also invest in some packages of granny-panties a size bigger so they're comfy.

I bought thick, overnight equate brand pads because I think they soak up blood the best. I thought the always brand was more likely to have the blood overflow and leak. 
I also would avoid the wings because it'll take longer and be harder to take the pad off.

I'm buying the biggest ones I can find based on how I was after I had my daughter. I went through two packs and then a pack of smaller ones.

My bleeding hasn't been too bad. I use the Always brand. I use their Moderate & long length. They do have heavier duty pads too if you need that.

I used super plus overnight leak guard with wings for first week then just regular overnight second week. With both labors previously, I never bleed longer then two weeks. Hoping for the same this time around!

I have been reading a lot about what's best for after delivery.  A lot of mom's say they bleed heavy so to use the overnight large pads. I would personally recommend the wings because they give a little added help to keeping the pad in place. I would also recommend buying cheap underwear you do not care about because you don't want to ruin a favorite pair.
