What exactly happens at the 36 week ultrasound?

Hi girls, I'm 35 weeks this week... I go next Wednesday for my 36 week ultrasound. Just wondering, what exactly do they tell you? I have no idea how big this baby is, what position he's in, when to expect birth... Will they clear some of that up? I haven't had an ultrasound since the anatomy one at 19 weeks and so I'm super anxious!!! 😬😬😬😬Thank you

They will definitely tell you if baby is head down or not and give an estimate on weight. Keep in mind the estimate is just that, an estimate so it may or may not be accurate. 
It will not be able to tell you anything about when you will go into labor.

I've been having regular ultrasounds because I'm having twins so yours may be a little different but this is what they tell me at each one...position of babies (breech, vertex, etc), estimation of size of baby by measuring the femur length, circumference of abdomen, and circumference of head, and lately during biophysical profile (bpp) they measure fluid amount, babies breathing, and check on placentas. My latest one was at 34 weeks and I'll have another one this week at 36 weeks.

Is this a standard procedure at your doctor's office? 
I wouldn't worry about it! It'll probably just put your mind at ease knowing this info.

I've never even heard of a 36 week ultrasound.... 20 weeks was my last one with my son.

I don't get another ultrasound at 35 weeks. I wish!! I had one at 6 weeks one at 10 weeks ( because of previous misscarriages) and one at 20 weeks, which was my last one :(
