Kick counts advice

When you start counting movements, I have a few questions...
1) how many times do you do it per day?
2) sometimes it feels like popcorn popping with several movements right after another in different areas of my belly- do I count each one as separate?
3) I don't think I know what a "swish" or "roll" is, only jabs. Could this be because my placenta is in the front? What do these feel like?
