NICU?

Question

Because I have preeclampsia, I'm having a c section at 37 weeks.... Does that mean that my baby will have to go to the NICU? Or what are the chances? I'm so nervous/upset about how things are going...

I had my son be emcs @35 weeks and he had jaundice but didn't need to go into special care. He managed to breast-feed on the second day too!  I am sure u will both be fine!

My baby was born at 38 weeks, I was induced due to hypertension he has some jaundice but never had to go to the nicu.

I was induced because of preeclampsia at 37 weeks. My son was born at 37 weeks 3 days. He spent 3 days in the NICU, But he was fine after that. It was just because of jau,dice, and they were worried about infection and they wanted to monitor him

It depends on how much he weighs and how everything is functioning in him but he should be fine

My youngest was born at 35.5 weeks and never had to go to the NICU. So I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Mostly depends on babies lungs some babies are fine then others may need a day or 2 to catch up with breathing in their own

It's not definite. I had my third at 36.6 and he was perfectly healthy, never went to the Nicu. Prayers everything goes smooth.

Both my kids went to nicu because of preclampsia they both were low birth weight my uterus at the end of pregnancy the placenta wasn't functioning properly High blood pressure ' restricted growth to the baby's  i was very sick !! 1st was born at 36 wks 3lbs 13 Oz and my second at 34 wks 3lbs 15 Oz :)  therw both home now and healthy no c implications other than weight I'm grateful because I've heard then can have many health priblems

Your classed as full term at 37 weeks so aslong as the baby is a good weight they probs won't go to nicu just may suffer from a bit of jaundice
