Epidural... Uncomfortable?

I'm weird about getting things like an IV. They make me uncomfortable and they give me anxiety and I am never the type to casually forget that I have an IV in my arm or hand. I'm always afraid someone will accidentally trip on the tube or rip it out somehow. Ugh. So anywho, I plan on getting an epidural but am I right to assume it's the same sort of idea? Isn't that uncomfortable to be laying on? I have no idea how it all works and this is my first. I know that labor pains will make me more than grateful for the epidural, but I just want to be prepared, even mentally. Thanks!
