Hsg this week, any tips?

I had a tubal reversal last September after losing my 6 month old in a horrible accident.  Since no baby after 6 months TTC I'm going in for an hsg to make sure the tubes are still open.  Has anyone gone through this? Do they give you meds? I'm getting nervous for the procedure and the results :-/

​I had my first HSG X-Ray done in February. My doc advised me to take 800mg ibuprofen an hour before my appointment. It was still pretty painful. But the nurse did mention that the pain tends to be consistent with the severity of your menstrual cramps every month. If you regularly get pretty bad cramps, expect an uncomfortable procedure, otherwise it shouldn't be too bad.

​But honestly, the whole thing only takes about five minutes, mine took a little longer because they needed a slightly smaller tube for my cervix, even then, it wasn't all that bad.

​It's so worth it in the grand scheme of things to have answers! They confirmed for me that I have one blocked tube. They try to clear out any obstructions, but in my case, they couldn't clear it. But I hear that the dye they use can help prime the uterus for implantation! Dunno how scientifically solid that claim is, but it gives me hope! :)

My doctor gave me some Valium before the procedure it's still a little uncomfortable but really worth it. I conceived my son right away. Clears everything up. I'm going try to get another one soon, since we've been trying for almost a year. Fingers crossed . Good luck ;)
