Car accident 😣
This is my first post here on Glow. Yesterday (4/28/2016) I was involved in a head on collision with another vehicle that consisted of 3 teenage girls headed home after school. I'm a registered nurse and was headed home after my 12 hour shift in the ICU. Luckily nobody was injured and my husband took me to the ER. As of yesterday I was 20 weeks 1 day. Anatomy scan scheduled for Tuesday (May 3rd) and we're super excited to find out what we are having. Anywho Doppler couldn't pick up a consistent heart beat because baby was moving and a shaking in there. Doc ordered an ultrasound and the ultrasound tech came in and lubed me down with gel and cut the lights off. She pushes on my belly and she says "ok here's twin B's head and here's twin A's head". I abruptly cut her off ( ummmm excuse me?) because there's no way I'm pregnant with twins and I've had two ultrasounds prior to this moment. As I'm telling her that her machine is broken she's measuring and typing away and then I watch her type "Twin B Breech" and I say to her why would you type that!!! I look over to my husband and I say "Babe she's typing twin in the computer!" She looks at me with a straight face 😑 and quite serious and says "Krystal there's two babies in there". She proceeds to turn the monitor towards me and shows me both heads and I see two spinal cords and I burst into hysterical tears. I could hear people in the nursing station saying "What's going on in there? I don't know she's getting an ultrasound". I'm still not believing what she's telling me. My husband is sitting there with an unreadable face and I'm sobbing like someone died. So I'm thinking during the impact of the collision the baby split in two or God threw a second baby into my belly at the point of impact. What do yall think? Here's the original ultrasound picture from my transvaginal scan at 9 weeks pregnant.
