Family & Friends are opposed to our relationship
I am in a close relationship with a man nearly 20 years older than I. My family agrees he is a good man, but is strongly disagree with him because of his age and his status.
He is married, but has been separated from his wife for more than 10 years. They did not went with the papers because of of some complex matter (loans, assets, children ... And their family keep wanting them to be together)
Now that he got me and filed for divorce, his wife started to send news to my family and friends that I am the reason of their separation. I am buffled since they have been separated long before I met him.
Now friends and families are looking down at us. My family even threatened me to leave him.
I love him, and these difficulties are actually making our relationship stronger. I am still hoping to see them long term though, is there anything you could suggest to me, to make them see him objectively?
And .. Am I wrong for going out with him before his divorce finalized?
Thank you.
Note:
Thank you for replying! I feel bad for the wife, but now I am sure I am not the third person in their marriage.
There are some progress lately, and some people started to see the truth. I am so thankful. Thank you.
