VBAC or no VBAC ?

Question

I'm trying to do research on if I should get a VBAC. My doc says I'm the prefect candidate for it because the only reason I had one last time was because my son was breached. My son was born on 11/11/13 and passed away from a rare heart defect 6 months later. I'm now 13 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby and due May 20th and could totally use some advice!

My sis's firstborn was c-section. She delivered her next 4 vaginally just fine. You can do it :)

Sorry to hear about your loss, VBACS are a good option if you are a good candidate, look into "more business of being born" they cover VBACS and HBACS in detail, you can find the four one hour episodes in Netflix.

Check out your local ICAN chapter. They have tons of great info on vbac but overall vaginal birth is always safer than cesarean unless there is real need for it.

I'm going to try to VBAC with my third baby.  I delivered my oldest son vaginally. I was 39.3 weeks and he was 8lbs 3oz. My second son was a stat c-section for a cord prolapse. So my doctor said I would be a great candidate because I have a proven pelvis. So I am keeping my fingers crossed :) your doctor should be able to calculate your chances if delivering vaginally based on if you delivered vaginally before, age, and the estimated size of the baby.
