So I've recently learned that my mother in law grosses me out. She doesn't wash her hands after using the restroom, and she frequently brings bugs into our home. She very thoughtfully purchased second hand baby items for us. Being second hand isn't the problem. The problem was that she didn't inspect the items before presenting them as gifts. Gifts like, a highchair which was loaded with ants and food underneath the covering, a baby swing that had mold, fleas, and dead bugs in the seating, and clothes also loaded with fleas. I think the fleas are coming from her home. I feel so snotty bringing these things to my husband's attention. I don't want him to feel like I'm attacking him or his mother, but there is no way I will allow our son to be exposed to these conditions once he is born. How do I address this??? Any advice is much appreciated.
