Just watched the business of being born and wishing I had chosen a midwife but at 30 weeks seems like bad timing to change.

I love my OB. But for delivery I will likely be assigned a midwife since I'm low risk. Fine with me either way... Whatever we gotta do to get baby out safely!

My appointments are mixed between my normal OB and my midwife. First born I had the same midwife, second baby I had my OB, and this time around its both. My midwife only works Wednesday morning at my facility. In any case, I have never had either one deliver any of my children. It's always someone I've never met but they are always very kind.

I got a midwife automatically, I'm in the UK, but cos I'm high risk, they assigned me a consultant as well to check up on me.

I have a doula and an OBGYN. Try a doula. It's a birth advocate who speaks on your behalf about your wishes and provides similar support that a midwife would. They don't deliver the baby or check it medically, but they're well informed about the labor options and procedures and can help advice you throughout your labor and postpartum period.

You can bring your doula to the hospital. You can find them through birth/motherhood centers. Or google.

If baby comes on time, OBGYN will be on vacation and I get his stand in midwife.

Pfft. I chose a midwife but about to switch at 30 weeks to another midwife. I've only been with her since week 18 so I'm not too worried. I prefer midwife because it's more personal, etc
