Zika Virus???😔

Has anyone heard of the zika virus ? There is a mosquito that is killing the brain cells of babies ,causing the baby's head to be abnormal. If you have sex,exchange saliva ,and even get bitten by one you can be infected. There is no cure for it. So to speak .What do you ladies think.

Also, depending on where you live you shouldn't worry. The type of mosquito which carries it isn't in the US. The CDC has a list of affected countries - mostly in the Caribbean/South America

Meh. Not worried. I've done some research and I'm not convinced it's linked to microcephaly. I think it has to do with what they are treating their water with. And this supposed link only affects you in the first trimester. We are way past that. Don't worry, it's bad for the little one 😘

I went to Mexico a few weeks ago. I was 27 weeks. I wore bug spray as a precaution at night but didn't freak or about it. Also, this virus has been around for about 10 years in South America/Mexico. The CDC sensationalizes everything in order to raise hype for new vaccines coming out. Also, there is no direct correlation between birth defects and the virus. Some of the findings say yes, others say no. I have traveled the world prior to being pregnant so if you just know your surroundings and are smart, you're golden!

I'm terrified of zika I'm just happy I only have 11 weeks left. It can affect ur baby at any trimester. I plan to avoid places that are heavy populated with mosquitos. Best to be safe then sorry.

I'm in south Florida. We will likely get it first in the US. It's been out there for months in the Caribbean and still hasn't shown up here yet besides people who traveled to those locations. My OB just has a sign in their waiting room advising pregnant women to not travel to these locations. No other advisories given.
