Language ...

I don't want Spanish to be my babies first language ! I feel like it'll make it difficult for her to learn English and then when she does, she'll have problems learning it.. My boyfriends nieces and nephews , their first language was Spanish and now they're 15 & 14 and struggle with BOTH English and Spanish, as do the little ones. My boyfriends WHOLE side speaks Spanish and mine mostly English. I don't want her brought up confused .. Because with my family she will hear English and his family (which she will probably be with majority of the time bc we live with them) speaks Spanish.

How did you bilingual families do it?? How and what language did your children learn and did it affect them being able to learn English ?
