How serious is anemia?

I got a call from my doctors about an hour ago with the results of a blood test and I have anemia. I'm 30 weeks pregnant, how serious is it? Should I be worried? My doctor just said to start taking iron tablets as soon as possible. He didn't give me many details

If you want to go natural instead of taking supplements. I recommend eating goji berries they help with anemia alot. I have a friend who had anemia with her pregnancies and nothing would help except for the goji berries and she was able to recover alot faster after her 3rd baby with the goji berries. The iron in them is really high too so you don't necessarily need to eat alot of them.

My SIL lost a lot of blood during her emergency c section and needed a blood transfusion because of anemia and it effected her ability to breastfeed, but her diet was terrible and she refused to take a supplement because it made her constipated.  Take a supplement and eat as much iron rich foods as you can up until the birth, you should be okay!

I had this with my last pregnancy my daughter I just went to the gnc and but prenatals with iron nothing really happened no symptoms but I did eat ice a lot lol

I've been anemic my whole life. And yea pretty much the only thing is you pass out easily. I lost over half of my blood at the hospital and passed out after it was scary! Also you can bruise super easy. I look like I've been beaten haha. Start taking iron pills. With food, because they make you neaseous. It will help a ton. They also make you constipated so keep that in mind as well.

It can cause you to pass out which could be dangerous in a lot of situations, especially being pregnant. Not sure about risk to baby specifically. Get on those supplements asap 😊

it's serious but you shouldn't worried tho I've it to it just means ppl like us can lose blood more than others but that hardly happens if you do you'll get blood that same day but that's what I got ice extra iron pills it's called FUSION PLUS CAPSULES

Depends on how severe I am anemic but I only have actually had to take iron during pregnancy
