Am I being ridiculous?

Question

So this is a long one please read!...
So my boyfriend has two kids from a previous marriage and he only gets to see them on holidays and for like a month during the summers because they live in NC with their mother and he lives in FL. They will be visiting in two months and he wants to do a week vacation, like a cruise (which can be expensive during the summer) or a Disney get-away. 
I have gone part time at work because my bf wanted me to return to school full time to get my bachelors in education, so money has been very tight for me and I have also been trying to save whatever I can so I can have an emergency fund. 
My bf is in the process of buying a house for us, and between the costs of that, paying 1500 in child support a month, and also paying for his kid's flights here and their vacation, he wants me to pay for myself for anything we end up doing while they are here. 
I took time off, tried to suggest less costly things for us to do, and explained to him my financials, but he said that he would love for me to come with them, but if I can't afford it then I shouldn't go and that he isn't going to "cheapen" his kid's time here by not going on a real vacation. This really hurt me and I got very upset with him because it will also be my vacation that I took off from work and I don't want to put myself in a financial bind. 
Am I wrong to be upset or am I overreacting and acting selfish?

Ok I understand where your coming from and where he's coming from . So I'm not trying to be rude at all lol but vacation is a huge deal to me also and my boyfriend would rather not go and spend the money on something else or save but to me I will not give up taken my son on vacation for anything we go even if don't have the money it's a huge deal to me and it's times that I won't get back with my son and places and things that he should get to go see and do .. my boyfriend is going this year and I told him he has to bring some money for stuff he wants to do and things he wants (he is going to but he would rather not he's just doing it because he knows how important it is to me )we to are buying a house and have plenty of other bills so 4 animals lol we have my son all the time my boyfriend is dad his real dad isn't around . My boyfriend also doesn't get paid time off of work for Vaca so that will also put a hurting on us when we get back.  But that time spent with your family is more then worth it. And he only gets his kids for a month so I can see why he refuses to give it up I would to . Should he help pay for you to go yes but I realy don't think he is doing it to hurt you I think he is just thinking for his kids he doesn't get the alot so it's a bigger deal then you can ever understand you don't have kids yet so you can try to understand stand but in the end you don't get it Like a parent does before I had my son I didn't understand why we had to do the things we did with my the boyfriends daughter when we got her because I felt like the money wasn't there to do all this stuff but now I get it .. and you just have to make it work

I don't think you're acting selfish. I also think he's trying to buy thier love... :/ but in a reasonable way. 
I think you should go with them if you want to be with this man. He's going to have kids, so you're going to have kids, so you need to make sacrifices too now. Think of them as yours. Make it exciting, not a drag.

I first want to say I'm sorry you feel this way. I really agree with you, but coming from a divorced household I understand spending time with his kids. He doesn't have to make it impossible for you though. He should be willing to help you enjoy the time with the kids too. Whether he do a cheaper vacation or he chips in to make sure you can relax and have peace of mind taking time off work. Because if you do marry this man they would in fact be your kids and family too! Not a good way to start.
