Induced?

Question

Hi all, I see so many posts of ladies who are being induced and I wonder why. 
please comment as well to explain your choice or the medical reason. Thank you!

I’ve been induced my first two pregnancies because of preeclampsia and hydronephrosis. I’m currently 35 weeks and will be induced in 3 weeks time as I’m considered high risk due to my history. I’m sure if I didn’t want to be induced I could risk it and go unmonitored over Christmas when my drs office is closed but I don’t feel like that would be in mine or my babies best interest.

Just found out today that I will be induced at 37 Weeks due to preeclampsia. Our Christmas baby is coming a little early!

I was induced at 37 weeks as my heart was struggling to keep up with the last hurdle of pregnancy. I had flyid around the heart which is caused by pregnancy and very rare! The induction was successful but I had an emergency c-section due to my heart rate being too high. 
Now 37 weeks with my second and a normal pregnancy. However because of the c-section I'm not allowed over 40 weeks so if baby doesn't come by her due date I will be induced.

We were induced for a two vessel cord. My ob and the specialist were concerned it might start to die off. When my son was born he had no chub or fat. He looked very sickly. I'm very happy I was induced. It scares me to think what might have happened had I not been induced.

Mine was a little of both. I chose an induction after consulting with my OB because I was a week late. I was given pitocin, the contractions came on fast and were relentless, so I ended up asking for an epidural. During delivery we figured out my son was a larger baby (almost 10lb) and faceup-stuck, so in order to avoid an emergency c-section, they used forceps. Afterwards I had immediate postpartum hemorrhage and lots of tearing.

There is some speculation on whether or not the induced contractions may have caused him to roll posterior, or if he had already been in that position.

I'm going to try to avoid induction at all costs, even if I'm two weeks late. I get why people do it, and if I had, I would do it again. But I'm really hoping to have a smoother birth this second time around, because it seemed like everything I was terrified of happening the first time-happened and I had little control.

I'll likely be induced. My labor was so fast with my first that my OB is worried I'll be the one to give birth on the side of the highway lol

I was induced with my first (6 years ago) because I was having chest pains with contractions. I was due May 8, and she came April 30. Kind of glad, too, because they thought she'd be 6 pounds and came roaring out of me at 8 pounds with a 14" head.
