What do you ladies think?

So, I absolutely hate being the center of attention. I have anxiety and I hate all eyes on me.

So, what I've decided to do, instead of having a traditional baby shower, my husband and I are having a "BABY Q". In other words, a Baby BBQ.

My little girl is due in September, and I will be having the baby q in Early August, when it's still warm and everyone loves summer.

- so instead of staying inside and having a baby shower, we will be hosting a baby BBQ, in our backyard, with a fire pit "bonfire", BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, games, men and babies WELCOME, and instead of people bringing gifts, we are having a diaper raffle, and whoever wins, gets either a $100 mall gift card or 1 hour massage at a spa.

What do you guys think?

Traditionally, this is what my husbands family has always done for "baby showers" anyways. I've never understood why only the women get to celebrate the coming arrival of a new baby! That being said, I just bad mine last weekend and it had men, women, children, and catered Mexican food. It was awesome! Everyone had a great time, it felt casual and everyone left happy. I love co-ed showers 😆

We are doing the same! Hubby wanted to be Part of it and I didnt want a circle of ladies surrounding me either! But we registered still and are doing a raffle. Plus tons of yard games. I am so excited!! We expect a big turn out 😁🎉🎉🎉

I think this is an awesome idea and is totally the way to do it so it's fun for everyone. Plus diaper raffles are so awesome. Also now I want bbq food lol

I am doing the same thing for both of my showers. We won't be doing a fire pit, though, because there will be lots of kids running around. I'm doing diaper raffles and putting together nice gift baskets with wine, beer, and nice treats -- probably 10 baskets each -- so more people have the opportunity to win something. I don't know about games, but we will have good music, good food, and good people. I will have to do the obligatory gift opening, but that's more to appease my grandmother and my MIL. I'm allotting 3 hours for each shower so there is no real awkward stand-around time. Definitely happy about the casual BBQ setting, though!
