Can I make just a random ultrasound apt just because I want one?

My doctors office does peek-a-boo sessions starting at 16 weeks. I just went yesterday for one and found out we are having a boy. I only paid $50 for it:) alot of places offer u/s like this.

Well even for 3d the ones I've talked to said you had to have a note with permission from the dr?

You could try calling up your local ultrasound technician school and seeing if they need someone to practice on. A friend of mine had an extra ultrasound done for free that way.

Some allow you to do so but you'd pay for the ultrasound out of pocket
