Store bought beef jerkey while pregnant?

Hey ya'll. Just ate an entire bag of Jack Links beef jerkey... now I'm thinking I should've checked if that was okay? I avoided it in my first pregnancy but this one is just going so quick (13wks today) and just didn't think of it. Am I good to eat jerkey or what should I do now that I've consumed all this already?

I go to parenting classes and they gave us a list of snack foods high in protein and beef jerky was on there so I'm pretty sure it's safe hun

I read a lot on this because my SO makes homemade deer jerky and I love it. Everything says commercially made beef jerky is fine because it's heated to over 165 in the dehydrating process and that's enough to kill nasties and they are held accountable for it. Homemade however is NOT advised because you cannot guarantee it's been processed enough to kill anything harmful and I know our dehydrator only gets up to 160, which isn't hot enough. Hope it helps!

I think your fine jerky is cooked and it's a good source of protein. And I've never seen it on any not safe lists.

I think the concern comes from salt and preservatives, however I had gestational diabetes and jerky was recommended as a high protein low carb snack... I say you're in the clear

At my Dr office its on the list of snacks to eat for a source of protein. Only thing it says is to keep it the low sodium kind.

Beef jerky isn't cooked it's dehydrated but I'm sure it's perfectly okay. The seasoning in it preserves it.
