Can you have painted finger and toe nails when you go in for a c-section?

"Back in the day," no. My mom was never allowed to have nail polish of makeup or anything on for any of her 3 c-sections. But my friend just had one with freshly manicured fingers, pedicured toes, full face of makeup and hair product in! So I don't know if it's changed, or if it just depends.

They will put a pulse oximeter on your finger. It will measure your oxygenation level. Most do work with nail polish but of course they will work better without polish. You need to ask your doctor because different places have different rules

I think they clip your finger nails for surgery. But not toes.

I had an emergency one and they didn't remove mine. It was on my toes only.

Probably not...every surgery they like you to not have painted fingernails or toenails to make sure they can tell if you're getting proper circulation, ect.

I know my mom got knee surgery and they didn't want toe nail polish but they were fine with finger nail polish. So I'm not really sure!
