So.. I asked him out..

Me and my ex were talking last night and it was a really good conversation it was going great. Then he was like "I'm so sorry with the way I ended things with you, I still love you." And all that crap and I told him I still loved him too. And I told him I was sorry for being clingy and overprotective and told him I would never do that again. Then I asked him if he could give me another chance. And he said " I just don't want a relationship. I do still love you and I would date you again. But for right now. I think we should stay like it is. Just for a little while"

He also tell me he still thinks about me everyday

What does this mean??

Am I stupid for doing that?
