24 hour urine collection? ?

Who else has done a 24 hour collection? They told me to do one and I'm not sure why. I'm 37 weeks and 3 days. They are checking for something just not sure what.

They're checking for protein in the urine, which most likely means you have preeclampsia if you have protein in it. I had to do 2 24 hour collections and was put on bedrest and had her at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia

I had to do that twice during my pregnancy as well. They are checking for protein and to make sure your organs are functioning properly. It is to check for preeclampsia. I did not have it but was tested for it numerous times due to high blood pressure throughout my pregnancy. Good luck to you I hope you get good results.

Yep I did it last week. My blood pressure has been a little on the high side so the want to make sure I don't get preeclampsia like I did with my first child.
