Braxton Hick + Period pain = Early labour?

Question

For the last few hours I've been having Braxton Hicks with minor period type ache/pain really low. 
They are coming roughly every 10/11 minutes. 
Could this be early labour?
I'm 40+2 and haven't lost my mucus plug.

Turns out it was! I gave birth to my daughter about 12 hours after this post.

Did they turn into regular/painful cotractiomd before you went in? Just asking because I had my membrane sweep yesterday morning and have had period like cramps since then very consistently and braxton hicks here and there. But not any painful contractions regularly. Just don't know if this is early labor or more..

I was having this all night but nothing regular. We're just about to head to a wedding a couple hours out of town so hopefully she stays put until tomorrow.
