I have herpes

I'm 17 and just found out I have herpes. I've been with my boyfriend sexually for over 2 years. He had recently gotten tested for it and came back negative. Could it be possible that I got this from someone before him?  I was never tested for stds before today. But I've never had any symptoms and I haven't been with anyone else since we started. I'm talking 2 and a half years ago. I'm trying to figure it out because my parents are blaming him for this but apparently he doesn't have it.
