Have you had a Vaginal Birth after Cecarean? I want to hear your birth story.

Question

I am planning on having a vaginal birth (not necessarily natural--I want the drugs!) but I don't know what to expect! I had a c-section with my son. Are you induced?  Is there a timeframe? Do you just wait around to go into labor, or...? I'd like to hear some stories! I have no idea how it goes!

My best friend had a VBAC 18 months after she had an emergency c section with her first baby.
She went into labour on her own at 38 or 39 weeks, laboured for 10 hours at home and went to the hospital and got an epidural.
Went really well with zero complications.

I had a VBAC in February. I didn't know I was in labor, I thought my rib was broken, they hooked me up and checked me. I was dilated 5-6. They let my body do the work. They broke my water hours later after letting my body work on its own. I got an epidural and took a nap then woke up n was ready to push lol Wish you ladies luck on success :)

Same here I am due sept.4th and had a cesc.almost 5 years ago and my doc said that my first didn't Want to fit through my pelvis and it wouldn't change with this one I think every woman's body is made for birth doctors just don't want to take the time and go the easy route

I am hoping for a vbac for this baby (due in 5 weeks). My doctor has told me that they won't induce, as that can increase the risk of uterine rupture, and that I will have an epidural, so that the tube for those drugs is already in place should I end up needing a csection. She said that, otherwise, if they have to take me to surgery in an emergency situation that would have to put me completely under with general anesthesia. I don't personally know anybody who's had a vbac, just stories I've read on the Internet. Fingers crossed!

I had a VBAC and was allowed to go into labor on my own. I delivered my daughter in an operating room bc doctors were clearly skeptical that I would have my child vaginally and wanted to intervene immediately if they needed. My doctor seemed against me having a VBAC from the start and tried to dissuade me from having one. I even had to sign a waiver saying I know the risks associated with a VBAC. My VBAC was 3 years and one week after my emergency c section and it went off really without any issues. I feel like too many doctors are against the idea of VBAC's so you have to really stick to your guns and let them know this is the type of birth you want to attempt. Good luck ladies.

I had a VBAC 4yrs after my csection. Went into labor naturally, waters broke and everything. Baby came out sunny side up.

If you don't go on your due date they let you run on for a week then will induce you and I think they send you home if you haven't dilated when you get induce some m peoples labour is slow and some are fast when they get induced just depends I gave birth vaginaly without pain relief and I was only in labour for half an hour and she was out but my waters broke on there own at 5 in the morning and when I went to hospital I got checked and I was 3cm dilated so they kept me in

I'm planning on a vbac myself.  Here's what my doc explained to me. First unless there is a medical reason not to he will not induce. So I will wait to go into labor on my own.  Should there be a reason (I failed to dilate with my first) he would do a small amount of pitocin and use a balloon to help dilate my cervix.  Hopefully no intervention is needed for either of us good luck!!
