Induction

Getting induced on Wednesday due to my fiancé leaving for military duty. Any fellow mommies that can give me some advice on having a newborn & spouse leaving? 😩

I wasn't aware doctors induce for convenience of family members...

They will if youre far along in certain circumstances even if its not military . My husband travels for work and my both of our immediate family are all in another state . My doctor will induce so that I can make sure everyone is there when our son is born . Otherwise I could go into alone..

Some doctors will do it, but they recommend not to. If the cervix and baby aren't ready, the induction may not work and then you end up with a c-section. It's possible that everything could go perfectly, there is just a much higher chance of baby distress and c-section with an elected induction.
