Relationship Problems!?

So I've known this guy for a few years and about six months ago we started going on dates and talking a lot. He's always been good to me and because we have a lot of the same friends I know he talks about me a lot. But about two weeks ago he asked me if I would go to an event at his church even though he knows I don't believe in God. I knew it was important to him, so I said yes. Then (yesterday) I got all dressed up and waited and waited and waited but he never showed up. Then our friend texted me and asked where I was because I mentioned that we had plans. So he ditched me without a word to hang out with his friends. I'm really pissed. Like I want to physically hurt him. I don't know what to do. He's never done anything like this before. What should I do?
