Crying while breastfeeding

My 10 week-old has been unlatching and crying while breastfeeding. He gets so hysterical he won't latch back on. It happens about every other time I feed him and sometimes starts at the beginning of a feeding and sometimes at the end. It's gone on for about three weeks and is so frustrating I've started to cry half the time too and am seriously considering just pumping or moving to formula. Had anyone else dealt with this? It's gone on for about a month. I've cut out dairy and it hasn't made a difference with the crying issue. Would love and advice.
