The Happiest Baby on the Block by Dr. Harvey Karp. My husband likes The Baby Book by Dr. Sears also.

The Baby Whisperer is great for practical stuff (schedules, reading baby's cues, different baby personalities). I liked Bringing up Bebe for parenting philosophy and a healthy dose of humor + chill out, anxious American mommies! ;)
