House projects!?

Question

Anyone else have a long "honey do" list they want completed before baby comes!? I feel like it's so hard to get house projects done with a small baby and even younger toddler that I want to get as much done as possible now!!

My husband ripped up the carpet downstairs and on the stairs and we found gorgeous hardwoods underneath. We need to sand and restain though, although it's not pressing because the floors are actually pretty nice for being over 100 years old. I'd really like it done this summer sometime.

I'd also like our older girls' room completed. It needs drywall and new lighting and bunk beds. Hopefully it won't be as big a project as it feels!

I have a huuuge list but it's not a honey-do list, it's a "I will happily do it myself"  list lol.  I don't expect my husband to do the house projects. He helps when he can but I'm more than happy to do the bulk of it since I have more time at the house than he does.

I enjoy the work, it's cathartic and great exercise! I always tell people I'm pregnant, not disabled lol.

Can't wait to re-do the garage and start on the nursery after the floors are finished!

I completely understand. We just bought a fixer upper and I want it finished and moved in by August so I can be comfortable and every thing in order when baby arrives in the beginning of November.

We're planning to extend our house to build a new kitchen and change the current kitchen into a utility room and downstairs loo. We won't be able to do it this year before the baby arrives unfortunately, but hope to get the plans sorted so that the work can be done in the spring before the baby is mobile.

Husband is currently having a meltdown because we are about to redo our electric, new lights throughout the house, new kitchen involving some walls getting knocked down🙈 and a new spare bathroom!!!!! Oh and fence the backyard 🤔I kinda feel helpless, but planning on making him super yummy dinners to show my support😂 let the demolition begin!!!!!!

We weren't really planning on doing any big projects, but this Saturday my husband discovered TERRIBLE termite damage in our garage roof 😜 So now we have a big project! (Don't worry, I'm just supervising from the ground 😉)

We were gifted my grandparents house a year ago and still have a ton of stuff to do to make sure it prepared for this little one. We finally ripped up the carpet in the bathroom about a month ago (I know, ewwww) and we just pulled up the rest in the hallway and living room. Now to find someone to sand it and stain it. Bathroom has a lot more damage to it then we thought though 😩. Plus babies room needs to be wallpapered, because the walls behind it aren't able to be painted?

I would just do some mild sanding or vigorous scrubbing to the floors! And then use Murphy's Oil or something to restore shine. I am only speaking from experience...WHAT A FRICKING MESS. Never, ever will I live in a house with that going on again. Also, the smell and sawdust may be very irritating to your sinuses while pregnant.

To answer your question YES! Oh my goodness. The list is long and exciting. Luckily my husband is on board and excited as well. I'm horrible at asking for help.

We're sanding and staining our living room hardwoods that we just discovered this coming weekend! My husband gets a 4 day weekend for memorial day so we thought it would be a perfect time to get it done. The sander we're renting is only $45 plus $25 for deposit/sand pads if you bring it back clean. We figured it would be like $150 total for everything with stain and sealer. I have a few other things that I would like done before baby but that's the main one. The carpet was ruined by dogs from the previous owners and there's no way I'm letting a crawling baby on that stuff!!
