Has anyone had any experience or know anything about why my periods are now extremely heavy? Has it happened to, have doctors said anything, does it effect fertility?

In November 2015 I delivered my baby girl at 20 weeks 😢. Because I had excessive postpartum hemorrhage I had to have a D&C. My first period was Jan and I've had regular periods by terms of cycle days since. I however seem to have a new personality to them. My whole life I've never even saturated a regular tampon in a whole day. But now I go through supers in 3 hours the first 3 days of my period and even saturate 2 super plus overnight, yes waking up 2-3 times a night to change. The remaining 4 -5 days are like what my usual lighter flow used to be like. No I don't have cramping and all my ovulation sticks show ovulation days too. I have 6 children and childbirth has never altered my periods even slightly before.

I'm making a doctor appointment in July (I'm out of town till then) to see if I can get answers there but also wanted to hear from people that might know more due to experience. It's really wearing on me to have such intense cycles and I'm worried. Thank you for any advice or help!
