Driving to the hospital while in labor?

My hospital is 5 minutes away. If hubby is at work and can't make it back home in time I might as well drive myself.

You should never drive yourself while in labor. They tell you not to drive when you're crying or in any kind of emotional distress. You could always take a taxi or an Uber.

I wouldn't drive myself - I haven't experienced labour,  but I'm sure that your concentration and reaction times etc will be affected by contractions and I don't think it would be safe to drive in that state. I'd get someone else to drive or get a taxi.

I responded to yes but I think I understood the question wrong after reading the comments. I thought it just meant are you going to go to the hospital while you're in labor.... Yes, duh. You don't want to go before and you don't want to go after 😂 You shouldn't be driving yourself while you are having strong contractions bc that would be very dangerous.

Never driving myself to my hospital....did it twice to be admitted for a kidney infection and the second time my car got broken into and all my stuff got stolen. This was last week 😩

If possible try avoiding driving while in labor. Then again, it all depends on how far apart and strong your contractions are. If it's the only option then make sure you have your emergency lights on.

I'm pretty sure I could have made it but I could also see me plowing my truck into someone unintentionally at a stop light. I'm also talking about like five min apart contractions or less.
