Has anyone ever anonymously paid for your food?

When I had just started working at 19, I went to McDonald's for lunch, no debit or credit card, and was sitting at a table trying to count enough 1's and coins to get a happy meal- I was still a dollar shy, so I was trying to finagle a super small dollar menu meal, and got in line. The lady in front of me had given the cashier a $10 and said "tell her to order what she wants".

Ever since then, I always try to help where I can. Pay it forward.

No one has ever paid for my food, but every once in a while, I pay for other people's.

My husband is in the military and occasionally when we go to dinner after he gets off work (he's still in uniform) our waitress/waiter will come by to let us know someone paid for our meal.

It always catches us off guard but it's very much appreciated.

It happened to me once in a Dunkin donuts drive thru. So now I do the same every chance I get.

My senior prom, my bf, best friend and her date were at a really nice hibachi restaurant and sat with a couple on their first date. The guy was really cool and told us about his prom and let our dates try saki. Then they left before we did and when we asked for the check, our server said it had been taken care of. It was over $100!!! I've paid it forward since then but I think that was such an awesome gesture from a stranger 😊

I took my niece out to give her mom a break, she was about 1.5 years and I assume someone though she was my daughter and I was a single mom and paid for us. It was a Chinese  buffet and the baby insisted carrying her own stuff so they all saw a messy baby ;p
