Diaper bag

Hey ladies! I'm a first time mom and SUPER excited to buy all things for baby!! I started looking at diaper bags recently to get an idea of what I would like. I'm stuck between a backpack style bag and just a normal tote style bag. I asked my boyfriend what he thought (stupid idea why ask boys anything) and he just looked at them and said he likes them both. So from your experience, which would you prefer or what are you planning on using? Also, I'm a pretty minimal type of person when it comes to things like this. I hardly take my purse anywhere so I would probably just use the diaper bag as my purse for convenience most times.
