After water breaks?

Question

If your water breaks and you're on the way to the hospital did you wear a pad so you didn't get fluid every where? Also, do they automatically put you in a gown or do you have to sit and wait in your own clothing? FTM here.

I wore a pad. I also put s towel down on the seat, just in case. Yes, they put me in a gown right away, and tested me. As soon as they confirmed my water had broke, I was admitted.

I didn't wear a pad because I didn't realize it would continue to gush until delivery. I stayed fully dry until I stood up to get out of the car. Then my pants were soaked 😌 But they get you into a gown (or tub) right away. 👍🏻

I didn't have pads so I put a wash cloth in my underwear and then put a towel in the seat

Yeah you need a big pad if you don't want make a mess I learn with my first baby. towel is advisable

My friend said she put a big plastic bag on her car seat and a towel on top of it and she said she didn't wear no pad or anything she just wore a dress and that was it

Wear a pad and make sure you cover your seat in the car with a tarp or something. The fluid can sink through cloth and wet leather otherwise. 😉

I had my waters broken first time around, but if they break at home this time, I'll probably wear Depends to the hospital honestly lol. It'll make me feel secure and that my pad won't soak through, which I'm scared one would.

I bought two absorbent bed pads that i will put under me to soak up any fluid.

Last time I bought a pack of bed pads for incontinece. I had one under my sheets and one in my car. A little pad in your underwear won't do the trick if your water breaks. And even after you think it's done leaking out there can be a whole lot more. Like flood levels so come prepared :)

With my first, I was having intense contractions 2-4min apart and headed to the hospital... I brought a towel just incase but didn't expect it to break on the way, and it did! I didn't wear a pad.
