Had a Customer Tell Me..
My boss left his 7 year old with my husband and I for 20 minutes while he ran to the grocery store.
Well, like any 7 year old does, he was asking why he couldn't go outside, and stuff like that.
A woman in the store said "there's bears" and, Just like a 7 year old boy will do, he said "that's ok I have a yellow belt and I'll karate chop a bear"
So then the woman goes "someone will snatch you up and you can't beat them if they have a gun or a knife." Then she looked at me and goes "we need to teach kids to fear the world and the people in it. To be scared. Kids don't fear anyone anymore"
😒😒
First off, I already wasn't happy that she told him someone would kidnap him and have a gun or knife. That's his parents choice to say, not her's.
Second, I completely disagree. If we teach kids to fear every part of the world, they're never going to go anywhere for fear that people are all horrible.
Yeah, there's bad eggs out there, but not everyone.
Third, she pretty much put down everything the boy said. He said he's a yellow belt, she had something negative to say. He couldn't win. It was obviously breaking his heart that he was just being told something negative by this woman.
So I go "yep, he's a yellow belt. He's pretty good at karate" and his face lit back up and he goes "and next I get my... " I can't remember all the belt colors, but he went through all of them for me.
And, I swear, not five minutes after Negative Nancy left, this kid looks at me and goes "yeah, customers are important but they're never 100% right" 😂😂😂
