Tooth extraction during 2nd trimester

I find it kind of sad that my midwife or dentist can't give me an official answer. Someone anyone, is it safe for me to get my tooth extracted during my 2nd trimester. I'm in so much pain that my jaw and head is starting to hurt. Please help! Also if u ever got it done while pregnant what should I ask for and how was the healing process?
