Stay at home mums: does your dh give you money for yourself every month?

Do your hubbies "pay you" for being stay at home mums and sacrificing your careers? How does it work in your household?

I'm struggling at the moment with spending money. I don't want for anything, I have everything I need. If husband spend x amount of money on him then he gives me the same amount to spend on me, etc. We don't have joint accounts so he'll transfer me money every month after pay day to pay for things like my phone bill. I really struggle with accepting this money because I haven't gone out and worked for it, regardless of if I deserve it or not.

What does everyone think?

I'm not able to go back to work because it's just not feasible, I'd be basically working to pay for childcare and even if we went halves then we wouldn't have as much money left to save and spend on family days out, etc.

My husband gets paid every week and always gives me something so I can do something fun with my kids and usually buys me a book, I am a book worm. We don't have alot of money and I can't work for the same reason but I am happy with whatever he gives me. He works so hard so I can stay home, and still helps me at home with no complaints so I don't ask for much.

I left my job a month ago and we finally got around to closing my account and adding me to his. But yeh at first it was just him giving me cash when I asked for it.

I'm going to be a stay at home wife soon, then mother after. We have joint accounts. I budget things and do my best to stay around there. We talk about purchases over 100 dollars. My husband never says anything about me spending money.

Your role as housewife is much more tiring than a normal job. You well deserve that money. And it's normal for men to support wifes.

I have money that we stash in the house and a credit card for emergencies that he pays on every month. Basically if I want it, it's mine.

No.. his pay goes in our dresser and I use what I want when I need it lol. We have 3 kids so the money is spent fast

We just buy what we want/need after discussing it together before hand. We don't worry about who bought what last or for how much.

I'm a sahm :) I'm in the same boat if I worked it would basically just pay for daycare and that just doesn't make any sense to me and hubby when I can just be home. He works 6 days a week but we have a joint account and I take care of all the bills. We share on cooking and I try to do most of the cleaning. We do the same, whatever he spends on him I can spend on what I want and vice versa.
