Abdominal pain

Sarita • Pregnant with my 3rd. I have a 7 year old son and a 3 year old daughter 😊
Sorry this is a bit long; I'm 24+1 weeks pregnant, and I have had anything but an easy pregnancy. I am high risk for a partial placenta abruption and a SCH. I went for an ultrasound yesterday and the tech said there was a spot on my placenta that she had no idea what it was.... And that she's not sure if it's an actual placenta abruption. Anyway, last night I was awake every 1-2 hours with lower abdominal pain and up to pee. It wasn't contractions and I cramp more during the night and while laying down so I just tried to sleep the best that I could. Finally this morning I decided to page an on call doctor at the hospital to see if I should go to the walk in clinic or go ahead and go to the ER. I thought it might be a bladder infection but wasn't sure so she suggested ER. They sent me to L&D for observation which I felt kind of silly for, but they monitored me and did a urinalysis which came back +1 for bacteria and had mucus in it. The nurse called the doctor on call with my results whom is not my regular doctor, but they are in the same building/practice, and she told the nurse that she doesn't think it's a bladder infection and said that I have a funky placenta. The nurse said I wasn't having contractions but my uterus seemed agitated/irritated. I feel as though the doctor brushed me off, and thought it was kind of odd that she knew about me and my placenta issues when she's not even my doctor, and the nurse thought it was strange too. I'm still in pain and I know it's not just nothing. Has anyone had a bladder infection/UTI that caused quite a bit of pain? It doesn't burn when I urinate or anything, but i feel like I was brushed off just because I'm the girl with the "strange placenta."

I'm currently sitting in the er for severe right sided abdominal pain that has been getting progressively worse for a week and a half. They're checking my vp shunt, appendix, and for bleeds in that area. Apparently, 24-27 weeks is when round ligament pain can be pretty painful but they said my pain was a bit high for RLP. Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I'm sorry they didn't really tell you much. It's frustrating when you know you're in pain and they really have no reason for it. I hope you feel better soon! I took some Tylenol PM last night and it helped so much.

Left the hospital today with no diagnosis but ruled out shunt complications, appendicitis, and RLP. My white cell count was slightly elevated and my urinalysis was clean. No kidney stones or ureter obstructions present. I still feel like shit and can only take Tylenol. 😭

I hope they figure out what's going on with you! This is my 3rd pregnancy so I know what RLP feels like and this is way worse than that. I guess if it gets worse I'll just have to go back. Good luck!

You could always call your doctor and talk with them directly, let them know how you feel. The other doctor probably knew about you because (if they're in the same practice or you do the online records) they can see your records.
