Pregnant in Oregon

My boyfriend and I are having our first child, I'm due in January. My boyfriend is from Oregon, I'm from Florida and we live here in oregon now and I'm wanting to have the baby here and then move back to Florida about a month or so after (my family is all there). I want my baby born here and I want to give what family my boyfriend has up here a chance to see the baby. But my mom is losing her mind over it and acting like its some kind of immaculate conception, as if my boyfriend isn't involved. She keeps saying things like "good luck" and "see if his family will help you they way yours will". I'm really just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this kind of stuff and if so how you handled it?
