Please help me understand

So I'm talking to this guy, and we talk like everyday and I see him at lease 4x a week and when I'm at his house he acts all distant, like he too cool to shown his emotions towards me and I have brought it up to him about to and he says it's the way he was brought up, should I leave it alone or should I keep talking about my emotions, even tho he said he was going to work on it !?!?
