Birth control??

My boyfriend and I always use condoms, but he's been asking lately for me to start taking birth control too as a backup. I know people who take it for acne and to regulate their period. I'm just wondering what kind of changes this would have (if any) on my body. My periods normal, will it change? Also I know it's silly but will my boobs get bigger?
