Rebuilding Trust

Ladies I lost my partners trust by textin an ex out of anger b/c my boyfriend didn't come home one night after we got in an argument. I hate that I was so upset that I just reacted off my emotions at the time instead of talking to him about the situation. Usually I'm the one on the other side of the fence in relationships. He wants me to earn his trust back but I'm scared we won't work because I don't know how to do it. He says texting him my whereabouts will not be sufficient. Ladies what are some things I can do to prove I can be trusted. If you've been in a similar situation, what was beneficial for you to help your relationship pull through.
