Sleeping arrangements

Information overload! I know I want baby in our room but not in our bed but as close as possible. So mommy friends what have you guys had good experience with? I want to get something I can put right next to the bed, I don't know if I should get a pack and play with the bassinet option they can use a pack and play longer but they look uncomfortable for an every night use, or do I want to get a traditional bassinet, they look more comfortable but they aren't as portable and baby will quickly out grow it, then there's the fisher price rock and plays which some moms swear by and they do look SUPER comfy and VERY portable however they will out grow it even quicker than a traditional bassinet.... Now I'm just trying to see what other moms have had good experiences with and would recommend.
