12 week appointment

I heard that it's become more common to predict gender as early as 12 weeks. I was considering talkin to my ultrasound tech or doctor about the potential of trying to predict   at my appointment. Should I even ask or just wait it out? I'm a ftm so I'm just so excited to find out what my little bundle of joy is gonna be.
